Review: Burnout Paradise
Tear up the streets of Paradise City
Plot Overview
Unlike other racing games, this one is not just a series of tracks; instead, it based around a huge city (Paradise City), like Grand Theft Auto. You can start events by pulling up at stop lights and revving your engine. In addition, sometimes you see random cars shooting down the street, and if you can crash the other car, it gets added to your garage which you can access throughout the city.
My Opinion
The city is cool, the racing is fun, and the music is great. This game has a lot of events that take a long time to beat them all, so there is lots of good gameplay to keep you busy. I love the customizable playlist that you can set up from their good selection of rock/alternative. The racing is fast paced and I like how they work stunt points into all the events. Also, unlike other games, this has racing events as well as a ton of other events like stunt runs (jumps and barrels rolls and such for points) or road rage (the objective is to crash the other competitors). The downside: There is no local single player, and it’s pretty easy to get lost in the city.
tl;dr
Diverse racing game whose appeal isn’t just the type of cars you get to drive; it’s the driving itself. I definitely recommend it

Review: Fallout 3
Fight, sneak, steal, and negotiate your way through a huge, post-apocalyptic DC as you look for your father and help to complete his life goal.
Plot Overview
Your character, the Lone Wanderer, was born in Vault 101, which has been isolated underground since the world was devastated by nuclear war. When your father escapes the vault after a fight with the Overseer, you’re forced to flee as well. The world outside is not completely demolished, and a fledgling society struggles to rebuild itself in the face of threats from mutants, raiders, and the remainders of the US government. Your epic quest takes you through the ruins of Washington DC to find your father and help him rebuild the Wasteland.
My Opinion
I love this game. I’ve played it over and over again; not surprisingly, I love the ‘karma’ system. You can choose to be good or bad, and you get karma points, which in turn change how non-player characters treat you, and changes certain parts of the story. Dystopian fiction gets me every time, so seeing an environment in which our world has collapsed and isolated city states have taken over is really entertaining. As if you couldn’t already tell, the environment of this game is definitely the best part; It’s huge, detailed, and exciting. There are hundreds of locations to discover and a ton of side-quests that take you throughout the game’s world. I also like the detail put into every aspect of the game, especially the characters and their relationships; you can see the real human struggles that would actually arise in this kind of a situation
tl;dr
This game has a great replay value; you can explore it over and over again. If you are looking for a single player shooter with longevity, this is the best game you can get.
